To request a park permit, application must be filled out in person at (116 Holt Street); we do not provide
permit applications online.

Private gatherings not permitted for rental at the Hackensack Recreation Center (116 Holt
Street).
Such gatherings at City of Hackensack parks are permissible when: (1) the proposed activity or use will
not unreasonably interfere with or distract from the general public enjoyment of the park, or exclude
other members of the public from using park facilities; (2) the proposed activity will not interfere with
the public health, safety or welfare of the general public; (3) the permittee cleans the area used at their
own cost and expense at the end of the gathering; (4) the proposed activity or use is not reasonably
anticipated to incite violence or public disorder; (5) the proposed activity will not entail a burdensome
expense to the City; and (6) the gathering abides by all Park rules.
- NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED.
No open flame in our parks. NO barbecue, NO sternos, NO fire pits. (Barbecue only permitted in
our Foschini Park Picnic Area).

No carnival rides, bounce houses, pony rides, water slides, pools or outside playground
equipment may be brought into our parks.

No live or loud music.

No fireworks, fog machines, or pyro-technics of any kind.

No food trucks or vendors allowed.

No outside equipment unless authorized by the Recreation Department Head.
Any violations of any of the rules or restrictions placed on permit holders could result in on the spot
cancellation of your event, loss of deposit where applicable and/or loss of future rights to obtain a
permit.
Request forms must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the proposed date.
The City of Hackensack may not consider requests submitted less than 14 days prior to the proposed
date. For recreation programs, request forms shall not be submitted more than one season prior to the
proposed date. Submission of this request form does not constitute approval or confirm any reservation
of a public space in Hackensack. Scheduling is subject to space limitations, priorities of usage for
designated park facilities or recreation facilities, rules, restrictions, and permit requirements. Fees are
not assessed when the form is submitted, but if/when the request is approved. Failure to secure the
additional required permits, insurance and/or pay the invoice upon approval prior to the event date may
void any permit approval.
